Garden centers and plant nurseries sell annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, vegetables and houseplants, along with soil, mulch, fertilizer, pots and tools. Independent nurseries often grow part of their own stock and carry varieties that do well in the local climate, while big-box garden departments compete on price for common plants. Wholesale nurseries and growers sell to landscapers and sometimes to the public at volume prices; tree nurseries sell balled-and-burlapped and container trees and can deliver and plant large specimens. Specialty growers focus on bonsai, cactus and succulents, orchids or native plants, and hydroponics stores sell lights, nutrients and systems for growing indoors.

Kent is in Washington, in the Pacific Northwest, where winters are mild and wet, summers are dry and pleasant, and outdoor recreation drives a lot of local business; hours change little through the year. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Kent follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I got a bonsai from them and itβs absolutely beautiful and incredibly healthy. They were so friendly and took the time to explain how to properly care for it, which I really appreciated. Great experience all around!

The family who owns this store is so kind and thoughtful! They took the time to answer all of my questions and helped with anything I needed. This place is a hidden gem. It was a great experience and I can't wait to go back!

My girlfriend bought a small ginko tree from our local nursery and wanted to turn it into a Bonsai tree, so we started watching videos about Bonsai to learn more. My girlfriend found Asia Pacific Gardening's YouTube channel and we fell in love with their work and approach to teaching. We were so happy to discover they were local - we decided to stop by the shop, where we met Nolan. He was working in the greenhouse, and welcomed us in to look through their collection. He was very friendly and was more than happy to share his knowledge and answer any questions we had. They had tons of trees, both indoor and outdoor - each one was uniquely beautiful! We ended up buying some pots/supplies and a Bonsai tree with a mud figurine as a gift for my grandma. Nolan even decorated the tree with some stones and a nice piece of volcanic rock for us! Overall, I would recommend them to anyone who is interested in Bonsai - it was not only a pleasant experience but an educational one as well! We hope to sign up for one of their classes in the future.

I went to Asia Pacific Gardening with the hopes of simply buying a bonsai tree. Yet what I actually received was an experience that I will never forget. Robert and his son Nolen led me step by step through the ancient Chinese living art form of Bonsai. Starting with a tour of their greenhouse and outdoor space containing over 10,000 bonsai, I knew immediately that I had stumbled upon a truly beautiful space. Walking through their greenhouse, they explained how to choose a bonsai, a process akin to a mystic sacred undertaking. They then walked me through the care instructions and the complimentary lifelong services they provide. It's an inspiring thing to witness someone as passionate about their work as Robert and Nolenβsomething that seems more and more rare in this day and age. I can not recommend this place enough! Sidenote: Robert sources the bonsai directly from Southern China and is one of the largest wholesale suppliers in the western US.
